2025-10-13 | Leading thoroughbred stud in Kildare requires a foaling attendant / night watch person for the upcoming 2026 foaling season from January until June, where we will foal approximately 70 mares. There is the option to stay on afterwards and work with yearlings or another area of the farm. Duties will include monitoring the mares and calling the foaling manager to assist with the foaling in a timely manner and then postpartum care of the newborn foals, which will stay on the barn until the following day. Other duties will include some mucking out, turning mares out and general duties. Accommodation will be provided on the farm and hours of work will be from 7pm until around 6am the following morning. Only candidates with suitable previous experience foaling thoroughbred mares and with references should apply. |

Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital is seeking a qualified registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly, professional and dedicated nursing team, based in Co. Kildare. This position is full time. The role will require a reliable, hard-working and motivated individual with outstanding attention to detail, who is keen to apply and develop their nursing skills to the highest standards, whilst working in a rewarding environment. The position will involve all aspects of nursing care of patients across a wide range of disciplines including theatre, internal medicine, outpatient, neonatal and intensive care. The successful candidate should have a passion and drive for delivering outstanding patient care. You will be a team player who enjoys working in a supportive environment whilst also being able to use your initiative. You can expect many opportunities to learn and develop your skills. All training will be given. Salary dependant on experience, plus any overtime, CPD allowance, uniform. New graduates are welcome and will be provided with full training and support. This is a full-time position, with shifts between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 Monday to Friday on the core nursing team. On call duties are shared across the nursing team, currently this is approximately 1 weekday on call and 1 in 4 weekends on call during the year. Mondays are off after working weekends. There is a full staff of Interns, Animal care assistants, yard staff and night staff working alongside our current experienced nursing staff, with international visiting students all year also.
