Tipperary Racecourse are looking for indiviudals to join their raceday team. Duties include ticket scanning, racecard sales, and working on the ticket sales desk. Applicants must be available to work all 11 fixtures and must be 18+.

Down Royal Racecourse is one of Northern Ireland’s premier sporting venues. Down Royal is now seeking to recruit a full-time Groundsperson to join the team and assist in the provision of a safe and excellent racing surface and facilities for its 14 race meetings (jumps & flat).
Role to commence immediately.
Job responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and restoration of the racing surface - grass cutting, replacement of divots, etc;

• Use a wide range of agricultural machinery, tools and equipment;

• Assist in the preparation of fences, hurdles, rails and buildings to meet the highest standards;

• Safe use of fertilizers and weed control substances;

• Preparation of stables, parade ring and general grounds.

Essential criteria:

• Knowledge of soil and grass management, etc;

• Ability to operate a range of agricultural machinery in a safe manner;

• Capability to perform routine maintenance of agricultural equipment an advantage;

• Ability to use chemicals in a safe manner;

• Good knowledge of the racing industry;

• High energy, ‘hands on’, creative and self-motivated;

• Strong desire to contribute, learn and grow with an ambitious team.

Horse racing is a seven-day-a-week, rain, hail or shine business and the ideal candidate must be available to work weekends

• Riding out racehorses daily, including pre-training and sales horses
• Assisting with the schooling and development of young or inexperienced horses
• Carrying out general yard duties, including mucking out, grooming, tacking up, and horse care

• Undertaking other ad hoc duties as needed to support the smooth running of the yard

• Proven riding experience essential
• Previous experience riding Thoroughbred horses is a distinct advantage
