Equuip is committed to offering assistance, financial or otherwise*, to employees in the racing industry to develop their skills and qualifications for their current role, or to help them prepare for an alternative role.

Equuip has established an Education and Training Grant Programme which is available to all who work in the Irish racing industry, whether you work in a racing yard, a stud farm, or at a racecourse or sales house you are eligible for the grant programme. The programme is also open to all Jockeys, both professional and amateur.

A number of grants are available each year and will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.

The programme will make a contribution towards the cost of any accredited course or training programme and forms part of the equuip commitment to providing access to education and training opportunities for all in the racing industry.

The main accreditation body in Ireland is Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), for details about QQI and the various levels on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) please click here. If you are unsure about whether the course or training programme you are interested in is eligible for the grant, please feel free to contact us by email at equuip@hri.ie or by phone on 045 455488.

The grant programme operates on a reimbursement basis. Applicants to the programme will be required to apply, enrol, and pay any fees due for their selected course themselves. Equuip will then reimburse part of this fee upon submission of the completed application form. 50% of the grant will be paid at the commencement of the course and 50% upon successful completion.
